That's Us. A Little Highbrow. A Little Mundane.
From The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield--there's a great description of a minor character (the doctor's wife) in the book. It goes like this (page 104):
"The doctor's wife wasn't a bad woman. She was sufficiently convinced of her own importance to believe that God actually did watch everything she did and listen to everything she said, and she was too taken up with rooting out the pride she was prone to feeling in her own holiness to notice any other failings she might have had. She was a do-gooder, which means that all the ill she did, she did without realizing it."

So cool! What a plethora of autographs!! :)
Amazing. Those are great collector's items now!
Very cool. My girls would be jealous. I probably won't tell them. :)
Thanks! I loved seeing the doodles as well as the autographs. It's a whole new batch of authors since my guys were little. Great keepsakes.
How cool is that?!?
What a fun thing to do and how neat to have signed books forever and ever.
Totally jealous.
Awesome...I still don't know what I would say to Sue Monk Kidd if I met her. I'd probably start crying...actually I know I would! What do you say in a minute that can convey how powerful someone's book has been for you...it would be difficult. But so worth it! I wonder who they'll have there next year?
You know? I'm so excited to see who'll be there next year. We're making this an annual tradition. They *always* have big names. We're so excited!
What a great collection. Those books are totally something to cherish!
