From The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield--there's a great description of a minor character (the doctor's wife) in the book. It goes like this (page 104):
"The doctor's wife wasn't a bad woman. Thanks, everyone. I'm glad we went to the Michael Bublé concert in November for our anniversary. We wanted to do something low-key and special yesterday, but I've been sick :(, so it was a pretty mellow day. Still, good to be together. :)
I think I already wished you a happy anniversary when we talked about the Buble concert, but here's a belated happy anniversary to go along with it! Wow, 14 years; that's great. I'm sure you have many, many more ahead of you.
