Ugh. I thought everyone in the East Coast had central A/C.

Probably farmhouses from the 1850s don't....

We don't have it either but at least it's not humid here. Yuck! Go to lots of movies...

Yep, old farmhouse, so we have window units. We have 1 downstairs in the living room (not in the kitchen) and we even hang a curtain in the doorway to keep the cool in. It is pumping on high and barely managing to keep it to 82 in here!!

The heat index hit "feels like" 110 degrees before noon. It's so hot! It's really been a very pleasant spring/summer, but this heat wave is really oppressive.

I guess I can't call your haiku "cool" when it is 91*, but it is excellent form and theme. Well done. Hang in there. Before you know it, it will be:

Footprints in the snow
Oh how I long to be warm
Where did summer go?

:)

Nice one! I'll take heat over cold any day, so overall, I'm okay with it. In fact, I feel like winter drags and summer flies! We're just having difficulty cooling down the house.

Also, rereading my earlier comment, it sounds funny. I think the heat has addled my brain.

Love the Haiku! I would come up with a clever one, but Vivian beat me to it and I think I can't come up with anything clever at this moment. Too many other things on my mind.

You should just come visit the West. :) We're in the 80's lately with fun summer thunderstorms.

Oh girl, I'm feeling your pain. Our a/c is on the fritz too. At least we've had a bit of a respite this past week- although I hear that more soaring temps are on the way.
