I am flipping out over this - Harry Potter Myers Briggs

As a counselor who uses the Myers-Briggs test quite often with my clients, I am flipping out over this. So, so, so cool. Whoever did this is genius. I love it! I'm an ENFJ and everything I've ever read shows that I fit that strongly. The description really is accurate. I'm pretty honored that it's Dumbledore! Are you kidding me? Way to make my day . . .

The Myers-Briggs personality test is really interesting and can give a lot of insight--there is no right/wrong or "best" type. They're all equal. But it will help you understand yourself and your relationship with others and the world around you more.

Figuring out your "type" is simply a way to learn more about your way of perceiving and making sense of the world and how we all relate with one another. It gives good insight into ourselves and our relationships and careers and the day-to-day of how we take in and process information and what we do with it. I like that it takes judgment and blame out of the equation. It just IS.

The 16 basic personality types—all of these are a quick overview and well worth the look. The 3rd link looks at who your "famous" correlates are and how it might apply to careers and life and relationship approaches:

And now a Harry Potter correlate, too? Wow.

If I'm reading it right I'm Professor Lupin. I'll take it. Draco Malfoy is my neighbor so I dodged a bullet on that one!

This is pretty awesome.

And Dumbledore for you? Awesome.

Super cool! I'll have to come back and take the tests and let you know who I am. So fun.

I'm not into Harry Potter. I don't know what's wrong with me. But I did find out I'm an INFJ.

Hmmm... I've taken the test before and gotten "The Dreamer" or INFP, but I took it again just now and got ISFP. Apparently, I'm a cross between Luna and Hagrid.

Blergh. Hagrid's awesome, and Luna... Luna is cool. I share some qualities with Luna. But she is not me - I've written a post about that, about how people are always comparing me to Luna and I disagree. Yes, I have some Ravenclaw qualities, but I feel much more like a Slytherin. And those were very underrepresented, only Snape and Malfoy!

Ha. I need a Star Trek one of these, since if I did this, I'd have no idea what it meant when categorized as a HP character.

So fun/interesting to hear from all of you on this!

Jimmy, I have to say that I'm not surprised you and I are so similar except for the "E" and "I" part. You're the same as Mark. It basically means we're all very alike, but I get my energy more so from being around others whereas you get yours from quiet time (though I think as I get older, I lean more "I").

Jimmy, have you tried the audio of Harry Potter?

Nevillegirl, I think that just goes to show how we can sometimes come across to others vs. how we feel we truly are. People keep telling me that I seem so organized and on top of things, but I don't feel that way at all!

LMW, I am officially BEGGING you to listen to the audio of Harry Potter with Jim Dale as the reader. BEGGING. :)

I did listen to the first book and enjoyed it pretty well, but never continued it. I should put it on the list.

I will say this - the HP books getter better and better with each passing book. She wrote to an aging audience, so they get more complex as they go on. It's a fascinating series to read; and, oh, how I love the characters.

Uh oh! I am Draco Malfoy!

Just confirms what I though - we INTJs are soooo misunderstood.

We are sharing everything Harry Potter at this week's Empty Your Archive and I would absolutely love for you to link this up - Alice @ Mums Make Lists
