Ice Cream and Nature Walks and Concerts, Oh My!

I haven't posted in a while--we've been doing a ton of fun, summer stuff including, but not limited to:

Gardening
Playing at the park with our awesome homeschool group (for 10 straight hours!!)
Playing in the creek
Library Summer Reading Program Parties
Nature Walks with our awesome homeschool group (pictures to follow)
Beatlemania Now Concert (SO SO fun) at very cool open-air playhouse
Symphony Summer Concert at very cool open-air playhouse
Playing outside
Reading books
Doing school
Brithday parties

We're off to the park again today (and we're usually there all day) and we've got Mark's parents visiting next week (YAY!!) and my mom for a week after that (YAY!!), so we've got a lot going on! So, blah as this post may be, it's something in the meantime. Back to your regularly-scheduled summer fun! :)

What do you do at the park for 10 hours? That sounds like a little slice of heaven. I love days with a whole park stretched out in front of you and no where else to be. What a fun day. Enjoy!

10 hours in the park? Wow....
Are there cots for napping?

Seriously, though, sounds like you guys are having a GREAT Summer!

It is too hot here to go to the park during the day, but just wait until winter!

Sounds dreamy. You sure are packing in those last few weeks of summer. When you get a moment to breathe, post some pictures of the fun!

Where are you? Where are our blog updates ;)

I was at Grandma Pope's house this weekend and she told me you were in NY with Mark's parents. Sounds like fun. I hope you are/had a great time.

I made a links folder with the grandkids blogs and added this one and Kates. She knew about both of them before but I wanted to make it easier for her to check in on you :) She is going to try and have a reunion next summer for her kids and their families. I hope you can come. She was specifically talking about you guys when she mentioned the reunion to me because she knew it would be harder for you to come. Hopefully you can get it all worked out.

I love reflecting on activities that maybe aren't a huge deal in themselves, but put them all together and you've got a great summer and terrific memories.

I don't know if I've ever spent 10 hours straight anywhere. Brita would hate me for days...a trip to the park is an insult to her now (don't ask me why--she just comes up with these things out of the beautiful, happy, clear-blue sky).

Where are you? We miss you! I hope you can make it to a reunion too. It would be so fun to see you guys. Hope you are well and we hear from you soon!

I'm here! Catching up!

Jessica, you would LOVE this show. It was AMAZING!! I'll have to post about it. :)

Jill, we PLAY the whole time (and eat a little, too). It's divine. SO relaxing.

April, I promise it's fun. Plus we generally have about 50 or so people to play with. :)

D'Arcy, by now you're back to school. Hope it's going well. See you in NYC in October?

HWHL, nope, no cots. Lots of playground equipment, though, and a creek and lots of grass!

Em, we know how that goes in Arizona!

Debaser, SO so so good to hear from you. Thank you for keeping in touch. How are you? How is your family? I think of you often.

Terah, you bet! Getting to that . . .

Nicole, it's flying. It's crazy.

April, thanks so much for making it easier for Grandma Pope to check on us! That's so nice! Yes, we're working on being able to be there. We're figuring out a big, old road trip to visit everyone. :) Post about NYC to come soon . . .

Rachelle, me, too. Bring Brita here to play. She might like it. :)

Jill (and everyone else who has come back to post again), thank you!! We're here, we've been out doing stuff, so happy to be posting and catching up! :) Yes, we're working on happily getting out there and having fun visiting. Yay!

Bythelbs, thanks! More posts to come . . . (and comments on all of your blogs, too). We've hardly been by the computer for days.
