Blog Posts

Our blog started mainly as a way to keep in touch with grandparents and aunts and uncles who live far away. We thought it would be an easy way to share pictures and keep in touch. I've liked getting to know my SILs this way, since we tend to be the bloggiest in the family.

It's evolved into, well, a whole mix of stuff, I guess--family posts, vents, political stuff, food posts, memes, American Idol recaps, and just general what-we're-doing posts. There's really not much of a theme or method to our blog madness.

As we get back into regular blogging, I have well over over 100 pictures to go through and I know there are some we'd like to share--Halloween costumes, puppy pictures, NaNoWriMo stuff, etc. But I still feel "blunky" at times and toy with the idea of quitting/going private.

So, my question is, why do you read our blog? Are there certain posts you like/don't like? Do you wish I did stuff like "Wordless Wednesdays," (I don't like those--I'm too wordy to be wordless)? Do you care? Is it to just generally keep abreast of our lives? Do you wish we switched up our blog decor (though I'll say now I'm rather partial to the simple sushi picture)? Are you just waiting for us to get back to Idol season? I've barely blogged recently and when I have, it's mostly been about our crazy novel writing project (snore?). I wonder, what keeps you coming back?

I come back again and again because I love and miss you guys and it's fun to stay "caught up" with you. I love the pictures. I like things like Wordless Wednesdays and Random Thought Thursdays, if for nothing else than consistency and enjoyment!

I like to come and see what we've been up to and to read stories about the kids. ;)

Just to see what's going on in your lives. I feel like your lives are so different than mine, it's kind of fascinating to see what you'll do next--I honestly never know. It's fun to get to know Dave's side of the family this way and know more day-to-day stuff about you than I would ever know otherwise.

Reading the blog and seeing pics is the next best thing to hanging out with you guys! You always have a lot of fun and interesting things going on and it is cool getting a glimpse! Miss ya. Good to have you back in the blogging world. Do we get to read your novel you wrote? :)

Since we don't get to talk anymore, and our lives have taken their own separate courses, it's nice to see what you're up to, know what you're thinking, doing, etc. How else would I have known you got a dog? How else would I have known about your cool red barn and applesauce making? What's next? ...I'll have to check the blog later and find out!

I like you guys. That's why I like your blog.

And I like that you don't have a theme. Makes it more interesting.

And you write well.

And your posts feel honest and real.

I'm with Jimmy. I like a real and honest blog. Plus, had I not found your blog, we would have never found our kindred spirits.

Oh wow, guys, THANK YOU. This was like medicine for my blunk. I'm grateful for the feedback, too. So, what seems random to me is interesting to others. I'm very happy to know that. I guess I'll keep it random . . . and real. :) Huge compliment, guys, thanks. I'm so grateful for you all and your comments, too. So, thanks! Really.

Well Stacy since you read my Blog you know my style haha! I like pictures over words. I love to see your kids and your house and stuff you do. I'm not the kind of person that spends a lot of time on the computer (like 10 minutes max) so I like to scroll through and SEE you guys! But, I think it's great that you write a lot for yourselves, like a journal. :)

I read it to stay up to date on what is happening with my oldest son and his family. It's just a great way to see my grandchildren grow up. I love the pictures of daily family life and to hear about all that you are doing.

In the life style of the day....communicating with our friends and family is more taking over by blogs...facebook...type sites. Do I like this... not really, but it has become more of a reality...so to read your blog takes the place of phone calls...snail mail...been long time since that was active...
Then when we do meet up in person...I feel I am in tune to a bit of your life...that I would miss if you did not continue on your blog. So continue sharing...for it is nice to touch base with a part of your life. :)
