This or That?

I've been tagged by The Magic Violinist! These tags are just the perfect medicine when I'm feeling overwhelmed and stretched thin. They make me stop and take a quick writing break, which generally helps me feel better.

Rules: Answer the questions given to you, give the people you nominate the same questions, nominate three people and let them know they've been tagged.

1. Summer or Winter?

Summer. Hands down.

2. Blue or Pink?

Blue.

3. Frozen or Brave?

Frozen. I like Brave, but the whole mother-bear thing was a bit weird for me. I love that both have strong female protagonists, though.

4. Art or Reading?

Reading. I'm not terribly craftsy. I do love studying art, though!

5. Christmas or Birthday?

Both. I love the feel of Christmas time and I love that birthdays celebrate people simply because we exist and not because of any specific accomplishments or awards.

6. Flip-flops or Boots?

Sandals. I hate flip-flops (soooo uncomfortable) and boots mean cold.

7. Roses or Daisies?

Daisies. My favorite flower - beautifully simple.

8. Cat or Dog?

Dogs, for sure. I'm horribly allergic to cats. Plus, I love our dog's spunky and cuddly personality!

9. Vanilla or Chocolate?

Chocolate, though I very occasionally crave a vanilla shake.

10. Europe or Asia?

Europe. Lisbon, Paris, Rome . . . someday we'll all go as a family when the kids are older.

11. Raspberries or Blackberries?

Hmmm. I like both, but I'll go with raspberries, since they're a little more tart.

12. Vintage or Modern?

80s.

13. Pasta or Soup?

Probably pasta - I'm a sucker for noodles, but no marinara sauce (yuck) - creamy or pink/vodka sauces, please. And with soups, I also prefer a creamy base rather than a thin, broth base.

14. Elephant or Lion?

Elephants. I agree with Kate - they are so cute.

15. Long hair or Short hair?

Long hair.

16. Beach or Water park?

Beach. Beach. Beach!!

I nominate . . .

Thanks for the tag, Magic Violinist!

I'm furiously typing away on my own answers since Thing 1 tagged me, too. Plus, you tagged me, so I'm doubly encouraged. I won't give my answers away, but it's always fun to see how similar we are.

I will point out that the 80s are slowly becoming more and more vintage all the time . . .

I always love reading your thoughts on these posts, even if I can predict most of them. :)

Thanks! You are doubly tagged!!

I love that we're similar. "Opposites attract" - bah! :P

Then color me vintage. :)

HA. I totally predicted all of these (except for the raspberry thing--what's up with that? I thought blackberries were one of your favorite berries!).

I agree with you about "Brave." That bear thing was weird.

I was super torn. I LOVE blackberries, but I was picturing myself being offered a bowl of each (truly, I'd want both!) and imagining myself only able to choose one bowl and I went with raspberries due to the tartness factor. :P I'd prefer a bowl full of tart to a bowl full of sweet (as much as, again, I'd like both!). Does that make sense?

I wasn’t nominated but I had a few extra minutes…

1.Summer or Winter?

Summer, but the older I get the more I appreciate that I live in a city that gets a taste of all four seasons. I actually got sick of summer last year and was ready for the temperature to start cooling.

2. Blue or Pink?

Blue because I automatically think of oceans and clear skies.

3. Frozen or Brave?

I really don’t get adults that get into animated movies. No, I’m not weird. They are.

4. Art or Reading?

Reading, but I wish I was better at art.

5. Christmas or Birthday?

I sound like a Grinch, but my favorite holiday is Labor Day. You don’t have to worry about gifts or food. You just get the day off and it’s usually nice weather.

6. Flip-flops or Boots?

Boots, because I feel physically vulnerable in any open-toed footwear and I like wearing socks.

7. Roses or Daisies?

Not sure why, but roses grow nicely in Albuquerque. So because they make me feel like I have a green thumb, I’ll go with roses.

8. Cat or Dog?

Dog. But I’m not like a huge dog lover or anything.

9. Vanilla or Chocolate?

Chocolate. Melted chocolate.

10. Europe or Asia?

I’d spend the money to go to Europe before I would to go to Asia. Not sure why.

11. Raspberries or Blackberries?

Blackberries. My wife likes desserts with fruits. As for me, See 9. above.

12. Vintage or Modern?

80s. (Great response Stacy!)

13. Pasta or Soup?

Soup! Just the other day I told my kids I wish there was a restaurant in Albuquerque that just served a variety of different soups and stews. Green Chile Stew is my favorite dinner.

14. Elephant or Lion?

Elephant, because I’m allergic to cats.

15. Long hair or Short hair?

Just glad I still have hair!

16. Beach or Water park?

Beach. Though some are better than others. The ones that smell like seals and sea lions aren't so great.

Jimmy, I'm so glad you did it! Aren't these fun?? Really enjoyed reading your answers. Green Chile Stew sounds positively delicious. Yum!

I'll play too.:)

1. Summer or Winter?

Winter for sure! I'm tired of this relentless winter, but I hate being too hot. I figure it's much easier and socially acceptable to layer up when cold than to strip down when you're hot. I always catch myself wishing that it was winter at points during the summer, but never forget the misery of being too hot in the winter, so I never find myself wishing for summer during the winter. If I could choose a season, however, I'd go for fall.

2. Blue or Pink?

Blue, because I like the color, but I always get compliments if I wear pink.

3. Frozen or Brave?

I've not seen either movie, but I imagine I'll see Frozen at some point.

4. Art or Reading?

Reading. I do not have an artistic bone in my body.

5. Christmas or Birthday?

Christmas!!!!!

6. Flip-flops or Boots?

Boots make me too hot, but flip-flops are uncomfortable for me, because I feel like I have to grip them with my toes to keep them on. I prefer sandals and wear them as much as possible.

7. Roses or Daisies?

Roses, as long as I don't have to touch them.

8. Cat or Dog?

I love them both. I have a cat and a dog and they both bring joy to my soul. My dog, Amigo, is the nicest yellow lab who has ever existed and Vincent Van Cat is crazy, but can also be soft and cuddly.

9. Vanilla or Chocolate?

Chocolate!!!!

10. Europe or Asia?

I've never had a desire to travel to a foreign land for some reason, but I'm Korean, so I suppose I should say Asia.

11. Raspberries or Blackberries?

Blackberries, I think. I like Jimmy's answer.:) I do love blueberries though.

12. Vintage or Modern?

vintage, I suppose.

13. Pasta or Soup?

Pasta hands down! Pasta and potatoes are my favorite foods.

14. Elephant or Lion?

Elephant, because they seem less scarey.

15. Long hair or Short hair?

Short hair for men in general and I prefer having short hair, because long hair drives me crazy.

16. Beach or Water park?

Beach.

Yay, LMW! I loved learning more about you!

Given what you said on the other post about music in animated movies, I think you'll love Frozen. Kristen Bell is great. Are you a Veronica Mars fan? We have a friend who LOVES that show and is so excited about the movie. I haven't ever seen it, but I'm VERY intrigued from what I've read about it.

I didn't know you're Korean! That's cool.

I do love exploring foreign lands, but I have to admit, I'm quite a homebody.

LMW said...

If I could teleport to a foreign land, I might consider it, but I hate flying.

Yes, we love Veronica Mars and we're excited about the movie too!

Do you know that The Wonder Years aired from 1988–1993 and covered the years 1968–1973. Today, in 2014, if one were to make a similar show, it would cover the years 1994–1999. Nuts, right?

I had vanilla frozen custard at Freddy's in ABQ on Wednesday and I will forever crave it now. It was amazing.

Also, I love soup. It might be my favorite food ever. I had green chile stew for lunch on my birthday and now I want to make some, we got green chiles in our bountiful baskets this week. It is SO good.

Jimmy! What's the difference between a good story that's animated versus acted? The new animated movies are fun to watch because they're so well done and voiced that I almost prefer them to live movies anymore. At least there's no cussing or nudity. :)

THAT is weird to thing about, Emily!

Man, Green Chile *everything* sounds so good.

Er, thing = think. Duh. Just saw that.
