This Pizza Hut is totally submerged.
People had to be rescued by boat.
There is also a gas leak.
I heard the whole thing has since collapsed.
We were just near there the other night . . .

We have had a VERY wet summer. We've had a ton of rain and we've also had a tornado, hurricane, minor earthquake, a tropical storm, and now flooding.
So many roads have buckled, bridges are overrun by overflowing creeks and rivers, minor roads are flooded from people pumping out their basements, and minor AND major roads are just flooded period. I haven't ever seen anything like this.
Many schools had to keep kids overnight yesterday, because they couldn't get them out and parents couldn't get to them. What a mess.
Thousands are being evacuated. Many are stranded.
We are trapped in every direction. Here's what our local news has to say:
Yep, we're pretty much stuck.
Plus, our town in particular? Locally? Stuck in every direction. We can pretty much go about 1/2 a mile in any direction right now and that's it. Lots of cancellations today. No one could get to our business and we couldn't get to any of our appointments and lessons.
Unbelievable.
Thankfully, though we're only 3 blocks from the creek, we're up on a hill and there is no flooding at all in our basement. Let's hope it stays that way. It's supposed to rain for the next 24 hours . . .
Here are some pictures we took today right around here:

Wow! My brother said that there was a river in the front of his house (a river of rain water, that is). Crazy. Be safe
Hope the rain stops so you can have a normal life. Glad everyone is safe and praying it stays that way!
How were you guys? Did you get any flooding in the house? People down the road from us were waist deep in water that was found in the basement. Our township has extended a curfew tonight to keep people off the roads.
Mother Nature sure is wrecking her havoc this year, isn't she?
HOLY cow. That is so nuts! My friend Emilie had to pick up her daughter early from school yesterday and it took her 2 hours to get home (a 13 minute drive). Every road to her house was closed, and people were getting rescued by helicopter and boat off the tops of their cars. I've never seen flooding like this in person. So scary I bet. I hope you guys stay safe and dry.
Somehow our basement has stayed dry. I suspect the bedrock that is right under the basement keeps the water away.
Fortunately our house is on somewhat of a crest so flooding doesn't affect our house directly too much. But like Stacy said, good luck getting too far away with all the road closures.
Thanks for all the positive thoughts you're sending our way.
I've been thinking about you guys with all the updates on Facebook! I'm glad you're relatively safe and don't have a flooded basement like so many others!!! Keep dry!!
Thanks for all the concern, everyone. We really appreciate people checking in on us. :) I just posted an update . . .
The stories and curfews and pictures are CRAZY, but true.
Lady, did you get flooding in your basement?
So glad to hear your basement is dry. We are too- and very grateful.
