Here is another of our feathered visitors--isn't he pretty?:
So, we've been landscaping the side and, boy oh boy, does it look nice! I wish I had before pictures to show how awful it was before. Just picture a broken fence, rotted out holes, asphalt and rock bits, uneven ground, and litter.
First the boys put in the planter edgers. Mark ordered a truckload of topsoil and another of dark mulch and we've been mulching all over our yard--it looks so nice!
We did this ourselves! Check out that pretty landscaping with the stones and curves. I'm so impressed with ourselves.
It may not look like much, but remember that all the plants are young and small and will soon grow out and up and around. We got all kinds of gorgeous ground cover. It's going to be BEAUTIFUL! We've also got purple wisteria (couldn't find white) growing up the arbor there. And white clematis on the arbor doorways. Click on any of these pictures to seem them bigger.
That flower is called a carpeting rose bush or something like that. It's easy maintenance and it grows and sort of flows/drapes down as it covers ground like a carpet of pink roses.

So pretty! I love wisteria and purple is my favorite. You guys are going to look fabulous.
I think we look pretty fabulous already, but the yard will, too!
Thanks guys!
You SHOULD be proud of yourselves. You and your crew can do anything...I'm way impressed.
You should start a landscaping business! The plants look great. It really adds a lot of character to the yard. Love it!
Heheh, somehow I don't see Greg gushing like that. That's Jess signed in as Foltron, right?
A really great job guys. It looks very professional and really adds to the yard. I'm proud of you all.
How exciting!
Very nice. I wish I had the desire to be out in the yard. My neighbors probably do too. :)
The guy who ran over your fence? He should have loaned you his truck to haul the new fence. I LOVE all the additions to the yard: arbor, pergola, fences-short and tall. And I love all the plant selections. I can imagine how it will be even more amazing when everything matures.
It looks so great! I love the dark mulch too. It's really coming together quick :)
Thanks, all! It's nice to hear from our Master Gardener, too!
