I've mentioned that we love living in the Northeast/MidAtlantic, right? Maybe once or twice?
And I've mentioned that part of it is being close to so many cool cities, right?
Perhaps I've mentioned how we can get up and get to DC by breakfast time?
Well, in one month, guess what we're going to do!

David Wroblewski (The Story of Edgar Sawtelle)
And these mystery/thriller authors:

And these poets:

and many more as well as several illustrators, too!
We are spending the next month getting geared up and ready. We're incorporating this awesome trip into our schooling. We're making posterboards about each author we're excited to meet, reading their books, and collecting them to take them down to get autographed. I AM SO SO SO EXCITED! D.C., here we come!

SOOO cool. That would be loads of fun! I would be most excited about Mo Willems and Ken Burns. AWESOME.
Oh.my.freaking.heck! (Am I a UT girl or what?!) That is AMAZING!!! I am so jealous! Those are BIG names. I can't believe that you get to meet them. Wow. Double wow. No fair!
You are both VERY welcome to join us. In fact, please do! We can do the Smithsonian, too. :)
I want to go! I'll even do the prep work - I love making posters (as my kids will attest to) and I enjoy book reports. Too much fun. I am green with envy.
As you prepare for your trip, I suggest Mo Willems' The Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed.
It might be my favorite kids book since Arnie the Doughnut and the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books.
That sounds so fun!! You will get to meet a few of my favorite authors!
I am SO jealous! All of those names are awesome! I cannot wait to hear how it goes with each one. What are they like? You must tell me, I will be waiting....
VERY cool.
I can't wait to hear about this experience. So fun!!
Thanks, Doug! I hadn't heard of that one. I've ordered it from the library and it's already been shipped. Have you guys read Knuffle Bunny? We love that one, too.
Kim, really? I want to hear specifics from you guys. If you were to go, whose signed book would you want--what author, what book?
Terah, we totally will! WITH pictures!
I kid you not, you guys. Anyone who wants to join us, speak up. We'd love to have you. What an adventure!
That's so awesome Stacy, I can't wait to hear all about it!!!!
