Tuesday, November 6, 2012 - Election Day!
At the polling place.
We voted!
(But we didn't get a sticker).
We take the kids every time we vote.
(But we didn't get a sticker).
We made delicious food to watch the returns.
Everyone made one thing to contribute.
This is Mark's contribution - we call them salami pickles. They're amazing.
My awesome husband made me an "I voted" sticker.
He's amazing.
Scout likes to beg food from us all the time.
Thing 1 made the most delicious, spicy chicken buffalo dip.
Thing 2 made quesadillas and a fantastic homemade dip, his own creation.
I poured M&Ms into a bowl.
Keeping track of the returns.
Waiting on 3 swing states when the announcement is made.
Obama wins!
A great moment.

And check it out. A couple of weeks ago, the kids wrote letters to the President and sent them to the White House. Today, the day after this historic re-election, they got letters back. How cool is that?

Everything is an event for us! So much fun! You didn't mention the toothpicks, painstakingly selected to represent the evening!
My daughter is so creative. She poured M&M's into a bowl. One of her funnier lines.
Two things that stand out: Salami pickles (yuck?) and letters from the President (cool!).
Sounds like a fun night.
Oh Jimmy, they're SO good. You take baby dill pickles and wrap them in salami and cream cheese. Believe me, they're delicious!
Boooooooo. But I'm intrigued by the pickle thingies.
Very cool! We were so happy about the results as well, and are so happy the election is finally over!
So good to involve the kiddos in this. We watched between moving boxes around and being exhausted. Hopefully things are quieter in 2016.
Emily, I think you would like them!!
Lady, agreed.
Dave, how I wish those moving boxes were about 6 hours closer this way . . . :P
