That's Us. A Little Highbrow. A Little Mundane.
From The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield--there's a great description of a minor character (the doctor's wife) in the book. It goes like this (page 104):
"The doctor's wife wasn't a bad woman. She was sufficiently convinced of her own importance to believe that God actually did watch everything she did and listen to everything she said, and she was too taken up with rooting out the pride she was prone to feeling in her own holiness to notice any other failings she might have had. She was a do-gooder, which means that all the ill she did, she did without realizing it."

cute!
Boquinha,
Saw your comment on my blog and wanted to leave you a quick note. Dave Ramsey's website is a bit "cluttered" but his book "Total Money Makeover" is absolutely amazing. Lots of wonderful case studies as well as a very common-sensical approach to financial planning, living within your means, etc. Plus, his teaching is all scripturally sound, which I really like. Also, if you are in a major radio market (or if you have satellite radio), you can catch him on air. His radio show is really quite good. But I highly recommend getting the TMMO book - I have TWO copies (one that is mine, and one that is on constant "loaner" to various friends, and family members!
PS: I couldn't agree with you more about Ann Coulter.... she makes my blood boil. What a mean person (and for her to claim she's a Christian when she CLEARLY enjoys causing STRIFE and minimizing peace! Unbelievable...)
Take care! :-)
