We Now Interrupt This Debate . . .

. . . with something a bit more lighthearted, courtesy of Stacy and Thing 1.

* * * * * * * * * *

I love it when... we have lots of time together as a family.

I can't sleep when... I don't usually have a hard time sleeping. Sometimes I worry that it's because nothing bothers me that much, but that's not the case. Fatigue has gotten to be a defense mechanism for me.

I have a phobia of... nothing really, although I have things of which I'm not overly fond.

I wish I had... nothing really. I'm pretty happy with what I've got.

I always smile when... I see my family (including our crazy dog).

I need... to sleep more.

I want... to finish my NaNoWriMo book. It's not going well. :(

I think strawberries are... delicious and versatile.

I think most people think i am... quiet and reserved, until they get to know me.

I think I am... a person who cares about other people.

My wife thinks I am... da bomb! Seriously, she thinks VERY highly of me, probably in ways I don't deserve. I won't complain, though--it sure beats the alternative!

My kids think I am... creative and a taxi driver.

I used to wear... skinny ties. I had a white one. It went well with my pink and white striped shirt and white pants. You may laugh for a little. OK. A little more. Now stop.

I wish I knew how to cook... carnitas. I am still on the quest for the perfect recipe. I have tried many.

I wish I didn't... start so many projects that I didn't finish. Really, I wish I finished more projects that I started.

I'm glad I... am married to Stacy. I don't think there is anyone else who could make me as happy as she does and who gets me like she does.

The last movie i saw in the theater was... "Hope Springs" on a double date with the Johnsons. Didn't even change the wording from Stacy's. Hopefully "Skyfall" will be the newest most recent movie I've seen.

It was... SO funny, often in a brilliantly awkward way. Like, I'm glad I used the restroom first since I would have peed myself funny.

The last movie I saw on TV was... "Sleepless in Seattle" as a family during Hurricane Sandy.

It was... a pleasant movie. It made me think of "The Burbs" and "Bosom Buddies." Classic early Hanks.

If I had a month off from everything I would... Sleep more, worry less, write more, and try something new.

Today I... worked at the psychiatric hospital, ate lunch, and will soon work in our clinic. Then I will try to enjoy the commitment-free evening.

Yesterday I... took Thing 1 to her violin lesson, went to Tae Kwon Do class, did some school with the kids, saw patients in the office, gave a lecture on acupuncture to a local group, watched "The Voice" with the family, watched "The Big Bang Theory," "The Office," and "Suburgatory" with Stacy, had a nice snack, and went to bed.

I like... writing more than I used to think I did.

Thing 2, you're up next!

I used to make pretty good carnitas. Haven't made them for awhile and don't know where the recipe is. Ha

I'm glad we're married, too. "Da bomb!" Bwahahaha! I love that part. And I love you! You're all that and a cherry on top and I'm so over-the-moon lucky to be with you.

I'm looking forward to our commitment-free evening, too. I say we put on comfy clothes, make ourselves another nice snack, and watch some 30 Rock!

Aww. Thanks, Stacy. A nice snack sounds good.

Carnitas? It is Mexican shredded pork roast, and when done correctly, it is the best. Best I can tell, you are supposed to take the tender meat and then fry it so it gets a little crispy. Then you gorge yourself because it all tastes so awesome. The last really good carnitas I ate were at Macayo's in Arizona. I've made some and I've eaten some around here, but I'm still underwhelmed.

Oh. Try the Sheepherder at Don Diego's in Gallup when you come to visit Jimmy.

Well, we don't have any travel plans for quite a while, but the Sheepherder intrigues me. Isn't Jimmy in Albuquerque and aren't you in Gallup? What, we don't get to see you?

Of course you see us, we're the MOST important people in New Mexico. I'm just sayin', when you come to visit Jimmy, come to Gallup and try the sheepherder. It sounds like a carnita and it's delish.

I can't imagine us moving west again. And I have no desire to live in NM. BUT. I have to say, the food there looks incredible. It seems very heavy on green chiles and avocados and that can't be anything but GOOD. I love both of those foods!!
