That's Us. A Little Highbrow. A Little Mundane.
From The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield--there's a great description of a minor character (the doctor's wife) in the book. It goes like this (page 104):
"The doctor's wife wasn't a bad woman. She was sufficiently convinced of her own importance to believe that God actually did watch everything she did and listen to everything she said, and she was too taken up with rooting out the pride she was prone to feeling in her own holiness to notice any other failings she might have had. She was a do-gooder, which means that all the ill she did, she did without realizing it."

A picture with much inspiration.
To see Anne's look upon Helen,
Like looking for those open windows to teach Helen.
With Anne's passion...Helen was able to learn and grow from an angry, frustrated child... to much beauty.
So much to learn from this photo...knowing the story behind the photo...leads me to be inspired...
what a beautiful picture of those two amazing women.
I remember as a child hearing the story of battles anne and helen had, anne trying to teach an unruly helen to communicate her needs, and the breakthrough with helen spelling out 'doll'... her first word.
thank you for this great reminder of important piece of history.
That's awesome!!!
