Our desktop is unpacked . . .

. . . and even though I sit in the middle of boxes so deep I can't navigate the room normally and so high I can't remember the color of the walls, I sit here and blog. To have some level of sanity. Normalcy? And I recently saw a funny comment on someone else's post on another person's blog and I reiterate it here for you--"Comments are my crack." So, please. Comment. It's been a while. And I'm having withdrawals.

So, here are some pictures, too! Ah yes, being hooked up is sooooooooooooo nice.

Here is what I call "Why we keep saying, 'Don't jump on the bed.'"

My favorite is when the kids ask questions like, "Where are our Walkie Talkies?"

"In a box someplace."

"Do we know where?"

"No."

"Boy, it's taking a long time to unpack."

(1 . . . 2 . . . 3 . . . 4 . . . 5. . . ) "You think? Maybe not jumping on the bed so that we have one more thing to do in addition to packing and unpacking would help us unpack more quickly."

Stunned Silence.

Yeah, I thought so.

And the stupid gas company still has our $2,000 hostage. I call them daily. It's great fun. It's been 6 weeks. And it's the holidays. I'm furious about it. Headquarters is getting a phone call tomorrow.

Let's see, what else? Oh yes, pictures. So, here are some of us packing up our townhouse (packing and moving in 3 days--amazing!):

M's holding a pet spider ("Yellow Dot") -- our kids reallllly want a pet. We're not so keen on it.

This is why moving takes 59 times longer with kids--this room was clean and packed. It turned into this "castle with a pool in it" in about 4 mintues while I packed boxes upstairs. I almost wanted to cry. But look how proud they look.
The kid with the crown is our friend's (and new tenant's) son. The slow housing market has helped us keep and rent out our townhouse. We're actually pretty happy about that. It works out well overall (even though it's been financially tight for a bit--thank you so much to family for help with that!).

Hey, cool! You look like Obi-Wan! Lemme get a picture! :)

Boxes serve many, many purposes. These boxes have been ovens, stoves, sinks, time machines, sushi bars, robots, restaurants, ships, castles, houses, caves, rooms, "comfy spots," you get the idea. :)

And you gotta love it when your friends volunteer to help you pack and move and are totally awesome at it!

Heck, and some friends even take time off work (!) and show up as a surprise to help pack! That is some serious loyalty!

I didn't get any pictures of the U-haul. In the snow. At 1am. Seriously. It's a wonder I have any pictures of this crazy move (it wasn't supposed to be so crazy!) . . .

Denise totally rocks. She packed our whole kitchen! Oh and that lovely plant (it's to the left on the extraordinarily messy counter) is a "Congratulations" plant for our new business. We got it from the podiatrist in town and his wife--they're SUPER nice.

Lots and lots of loads from our townhouse to our farmhouse 2.4 miles down the street. You'd think that move would be easy. :P

Good friends make moving fun!

Inspiring pictures, comments, and phone calls. :)

Oh crud, that's right. We packed the table. Eat on this.

Things got really fun when our friend moved his stuff IN as we moved our stuff OUT! :)

Oh crud, that's right. We packed that little makeshift table. Eat on the floor.
Bless our good friends for sharing a hot meal with us! BK and Taco Bell get old so fast. (Yes, that's a birthday gift in the background--we managed to squeeze attending a party into our move, too!).

Omigosh, they grow so fast! I remember both of them as toddlers and babies climbing in these cupboards! And dumping pudding mix all over the floor . . . (Ahem, M). ;)

Yeah, that's right. I'm totally buff.

And cool. Stickers and all.

And we so didn't pose for these pictures. Much.

Oh hey, I did get a picture of the U-haul (but not at 1am in the snow). This is earlier in the afternoon when our awesome friend helped us move heavy appliances even though he's got a lot going on in his life at the moment! Thank you, again!!

Oh crud, that's right. We've packed the beds. Sleep on the floor.

That picture makes me sleepy. As does moving. And the next few pictures give me anxiety. So, I'm going to stop for now. I can post more after I unpack more boxes and get some sleep.

I'm reliving the stress of our move last year through you guys! It ain't pretty! This too shall pass and you'll look back and smile and laugh a little and never want to do it again.

Can't wait to see you guys! Are you in need of an ice cream run? Call me!

It would be great if we could see the fun in the midst of boxes like children can...
