A follow up to a bit of advice, please

It sounds like most people so far think the 2-minute interview spot is the best route. Hopefully more of you will chime in. Now, we can either do it at 6:40 am or 8:10 am. Do any of you think the time matters and why?

Thanks again!

i would guess most people listen to the radio on their way to work, or before they get there....and don't most people try to be at work by 8? is it possible to do both? if not, i suggest the earlier one.

okay, i just now read the first advice post and comments. i'm changing my mind. if most people who listen online are listening at 8 am, i would do the later spot. sorry to change my mind.

Well, if I understand it correctly (I didn't speak with the radio people--we were at a writers' group that day), those 2 spots are for radio listening (not online). (Is that right, Honey?) And I'm with you that most people would listen on their way to work. And an 8:10 spot seems like a difficult one to hear if you've just opened your doors for business--aren't most people busy doing that instead of listening to the radio?

I'm wondering about how to get involved with one of those radio hosts their show from your business deals--you know, where you can have an open house, etc. I wonder if that costs . . .

I would say the 8 one. A lot of people lilsten at work or on their way between 8-9 I would think. That would be awesome if you could do a Saturday satellite broadcast. I'm sure you guys would make it really fun. But I'm also sure that would cost a lot!

Those two spots will air both on terrestrial (traditional) radio and online. They told me that the actual programming doesn't differ between the two, only the advertising.

Mark,
The radio shows have extensive studies and impartial ratings that would identify the listing audience at a give time. I would ask the sales department to provide you with this information.

Many of your potential clients may not even be working. As I well know we are an aging society and it’s a very large and ever growing market.

Up here our local talk station has a weekly one hour show presented by a medial specialist. I would look into opportunities to be a guest on a show or to even have your own show once a week as a public service.

The two of you have the personalities that would make for a great show.

Jim!! A comment from Jim!! I'm so excited!! We love that you read our blog so now I'm extra excited that you've actually commented!! :) YAY!

Thanks for the advice--those are good ideas. Lots of people around here listen to talk radio. Those are some really good avenues to pursue. Thank you!

Jim, that's a good idea about the radio show. We have a couple of stations broadcast out of a studio right here in town. I'll be contacting them tomorrow to speak with them. Maybe we can get on the air there.

Thanks.
